Green Columbus has planted over 300,000 seedling trees in since 2011 as a part of their Earth Day campaign in Central Ohio

About a dozen people attended Columbus’ first Tree Summit at the Park of Roses shelter house on Saturday—just one of many events taking place at ArborFest, but an essential part of the city’s Urban Forestry Master Plan (UFMP). Representatives from Green Columbus and Recreation & Parks presented for about an hour about the implementation of the UFMP, and asked for crowd suggestions on what next steps should be taken. 

On June 27th, members of the community gathered at Global Gallery Coffee Shop to celebrate the launch of the Green Champions Podcast, co-hosted by Green Columbus Board Member Dominique Hadad. 

Columbus ArborFest, organized by Clintonville GreenSpot, Green Columbus and the Recreation & Parks Department, will help fulfill one of the action plans of the Urban Forestry Master Plan (UFMP) by hosting the city’s first annual Tree Summit.
