Pot Filling Day - Feb 2024

This past weekend, Green Columbus, a leading sustainability-focused nonprofit, brought the community together for a significant pot-filling event at their Linden Tree Nursery. The event saw an enthusiastic turnout of over 50 volunteers, all dedicated to preparing the pots that will nurture 3,000 trees, marking a significant step forward in the organization’s commitment to increasing the city’s tree canopy coverage and fostering resilient communities.

The pot-filling event is part of a broader initiative leading up to the highly anticipated Earth Month Volunteer Worksite Campaign. Worksites will be hosted around Columbus throughout April, reinforcing our role in uniting the community toward environmental stewardship and community engagement. Earth Month culminates in the annual Earth Day event in Downtown Columbus and promises to bring volunteers together for a day of music, food, and local vendors, celebrating their collective achievements in sustainability.

We are incredibly grateful for the turnout and the hard work of our volunteers this weekend,
— Shelly Douglass
