Job Opportunity — Program & Operations Coordinator

Organization: Green Columbus

Location: Central Ohio (Hybrid / Remote with in-person events)

Type: 1099 Independent Contractor • 40 Hours Per Week

Compensation: $25–$30 per hour

Reports to: Executive Director

Green Columbus is looking for an optimistic, organized, sustainability-minded do-er to help power Green Columbus! If you are a self-starter who loves trees, logistics, people, and making community impact happen, this might be your perfect role.

Who You Are

You bring energy, professionalism, and community spirit — the person who can keep volunteers engaged, inboxes sane, schedules humming, and events moving. You are comfortable jumping in wherever needed, from writing outreach emails to loading supply bins into a car.

You’re a strong fit if you’re comfortable with:

  • Optimism + real passion for sustainability (volunteering, advocacy, outdoor involvement, etc.)

  • Making donation requests or financial asks when needed

  • Answering and returning calls from volunteers, donors, partners, and the public

  • Organizing communication across multiple inboxes; excellent written communication

  • Coordinating and supporting volunteers, interns, or teams (experience preferred)

  • Designing materials to communicate upcoming events to volunteers and donors

  • Switching gears on a moment's notice – from meeting with City Council to cleaning up litter in the same day!

  • Working in a nonprofit setting (experience preferred)

  • Building organizational systems — calendars, templates, processes

  • Grant writing or fundraising (experience preferred)

If you love people, lists, community, and the environment — one of us!
